This church is next to Postman’s Park on St Martin le Grand before it becomes Aldersgate Street at the Barbican. The present building dates from 1789–91, though it was probably founded in Norman times.
At the gate to the park near the church is a plaque commemorating the conversion of the Wesley brothers, which occurred nearby. In Postman’s Park itself is the G.F. Watts Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice wall dedicated to persons who have given their lives to save others.
