Strictly speaking, the Pilgrim Fathers (leaders of the group that sailed on the Mayflower and founded Plymouth Colony in 1620) were not associated with London but rather were a group of Separatists from the village of Scrooby in Nottinghamshire. However, there is a Pilgrim Fathers memorial in St Bride’s Church relating to Edward Winslow, an early governor of the Plymouth Colony and organizer of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel among the Indians in New England, whose parents were married in that church.
